I grew up in a farming family where animals helped pay my school fees. We sold eggs from chickens, pigs and sometimes goats to cover costs, but it got me through school. After finishing, I worked a regular job for five years in Kampala, hitting 27 years, but I hated the office life. I quit to focus on the farming that raised me, this time doing it as a business. We expanded the livestock, added better gardening, and started selling more animals, fruits, vegetables through a local market. It’s hard, but it feels right, using what I learned as a kid to make a living. Agriculture is still the backbone, just like before, only now it’s my full-time gig with no regrets.
